Nikola Karabatic-France is a leading candidate as a member of the gold medal team. At 2007 European Handball Championships he was tied with 2 other players as the leading goal scorer. Finally Nikola won the 2007 German Bundesliga MVP award playing for Kiel ,club team, that he led to the championship. Germany has the top Handball league along with Spain & France.

He was the top scorer in France is 28-23 gold medal win over Iceland scoring 8 goals.

The reason why there is is only 1 question in the Handball category has to do with the fact HANDBALL (TEAM) is unknown or not very popular in English speaking countries. To call the sport unpopular would not be accurate.

Sport of Handball is played from Greenland to South Korea with it being most popular in Scandinavian countries, Northern & Eastern Europe. Sport is also played throughout North Africa & is growing in Asia. Currently South Korea has the strongest non European team.

In men is handball France beat Iceland for the gold medal & Spain beat Croatia for the bronze. In women is handball Norway beat Russia for the gold & South Korea beat Hungary for the bronze.

HANDBALL also is played as a pro sport in Europe & has a World Championships every 2 years.
